About

Some years ago I began to have lucid dreams and out of body experiences every night. For many years before that, my approach to understanding consciousness included perennial philosophy, rigorous breathwork, simple meditation practices, and art. But everything changed when my dreams took hold of the roots of perception, both at night and during the day. In the beginning of my life I tried to understand reality in order to escape pain and suffering. In my middle years, joining a monastery, the search for truth was to reach enlightenment. Now, my journey has become more about simply finding a place to put the things I perceive, often because they have nowhere else to go.

Recently I published a very cumbersome and technical thesis, based on dreaming, outlining a new kind of cosmology and ontological methodology for navigating reality. I think the synopsis alone will scare away any potential readers, thought it also gives a good general basis for many of the articles in this collection. So, I will include it below as a kind of general introduction. If you are crazy enough to read it, and crazier still to slog through any of my writings, then certainly I will feel a little less alone in this vast expanse of a cosmos we both somehow inhabit in the same ontological vicinity (more or less).

Synopsis

This work presents a cosmological theory positioning dreaming as the fundamental process underlying reality itself. It defines the nature of dreaming relative to transobjective energetic thresholds, through which vectors of complexity express information, energy, mass, time, continuums of subjective emotion, biological instincts, and memory. The absolute threshold of dreaming is explained as a place of extreme lucidity, zero time, and zero mass. This primeval substrate extends sublucid vectors, establishing matrices that serve as buffer zones, allowing the derivative conditions necessary for universes to exist. The physical universe unfolds from its substrate as one of many dimensions defined by varying primeval equivalencies—coherent sublucid distortion fields manifesting further transobjective dream matrices, sublucid vector zones, and physical and nonphysical ecologies hosting species that learn to dream. Sentient abiotic forces and biological organisms dream in order to move through spacetime. These dream movements interpenetrate and matriculate across emergent distortion boundaries pursuing evolutionary objectives. Even at extreme sublucidity, derivative evolutionary dynamics continue an archetypal cosmological imperative to potentiate matter with lucid recuperation. This text argues that dreaming is not only neurological activity but a participatory, nonlocal cosmic function through which lucidity organizes complexity and assigns its primordial return direction. This return direction further pressurizes dimensional ecotones and concentrated levels of accumulated transpersonal knowledge. It is a path outlining the trajectory for sentient species to recognize their inherent aptitude for greater lucidity, ultimately enabling recuperation of primeval equivalency. It is a path and purpose that realizes self as cosmos/cosmos as self through a cumulative dream maneuver which straddles the primeval void. It is a maneuver which mirrors the primeval mechanics of pre-cosmological states of dreaming. It explains the phenomena of dreams, ordinary perception and sensation, and the mechanisms of death and rebirth. Equivalency also implies a potential stage of permanent metamorphosis wherein the physical body inverts its cosmological orientation, transitioning into a stage of evolution capable of directly expressing primeval force.
